Insurance Requirements

The Sonoma County Vintners Co-op, by policy, does NOT provide insurance coverage in any amount or for any contingency whatsoever, aside from its acceptance of liability and/or reimbursement for damages or documented inventory shortages of $1,000 maximum for each single loss, event, break, or circumstance for wine stored in its’ warehouses.

Per Co-op By-Laws and the TTB regulations governing bonded warehouse facilities, each winery storing wine in our facilities must provide the Co-op with a current proof of insurance certificate demonstrating that all goods stored are insured by the patron winery. It is the responsibility of each patron to annually provide us, the Sonoma County Vintners Co-op, with this documentation verifying such coverage, before the expiration date of such coverage.

The document required can either be a letter, on your insurance company’s letterhead, stating the coverage for your wine and period of the policy or a Certificate of Liability Insurance covering the winery‘s entire inventory stored with the S.C.V.C.

The Certificate must indicate that the “certificate holder is named as additional insured re: storing cased wine,” i.e. the Sonoma County Vintners Co-op’s name and address should appear in the bottom left corner of the certificate. Without this, we cannot store, receive or ship your wine inventory.
